TikTok safe zone
On a 1080 × 1920 TikTok, keep text 240 px from the top, 660 px from the bottom and 120 px from each side, and clear of the 180 px column of buttons on the lower right. Those numbers are measured from TikTok's own safe zone file.
Or drop one on the frame.

TikTok's margins at both sizes
TikTok draws its file at 720 × 1280. Multiply by 1.5 for a 1080 × 1920 video.
| Area | TikTok's file (720 × 1280) | Your video (1080 × 1920) | What's there |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top | 160 px | 240 px | Following and For You tabs, search, live |
| Bottom | 440 px | 660 px | Username, caption, sound and ad buttons |
| Button column | 120 px wide, lower 720 px | 180 px wide, lower 1080 px | Profile picture, like, comment, save, share |
| Each side | 80 px | 120 px | Edges that some phones cut off |
| Clear area | 560 × 680 px | 840 × 1020 px | Text, faces, products |
The right side is the tricky part
TikTok's buttons take a column on the right from about the middle of the screen down. So the clear area isn't a plain rectangle: above 840 px you can use the full width between the side margins, but below it, keep text left of 780 px.
That's why centred captions often clip on TikTok. Nudge long captions a little left of centre, or break them into shorter lines.
Your caption length changes the bottom
TikTok says its safe zone depends on the length of your caption. A long caption takes more lines and pushes higher. The file this tool uses allows for TikTok's standard ad caption; if you write long captions, leave a little more room at the bottom.
