CapCut plans and prices

CapCut doesn't publish prices on its website. These are the US App Store prices; the price can differ on Android and on the web.

PlanPriceWhat you get
Free$0Editing on a timeline with the free templates and effects. Tools marked Pro in the app are locked.
Standard$9.99 a monthAbout 100 GB of cloud storage and the basic AI tools, such as noise reduction. No auto captions.
Pro$19.99 a month1 TB of storage, 1,200 AI credits, auto captions, camera tracking, premium templates, and use across phone, desktop and web.

Is CapCut free?

Yes, CapCut has a free version, and you can cut, arrange and export a video without paying. What changed in 2026 is how much sits behind the paid plans.

CapCut reorganised its plans in March and April 2026. There is now a Standard plan below Pro, and CapCut's own help page lists auto captions, camera tracking, AI avatars and premium templates under Pro. CapCut doesn't publish a list of what the free version includes, so the reliable way to check is the subscription page inside the app: anything marked Pro there needs the $19.99 plan.

Is CapCut Pro worth paying for?

If you edit every week and use captions, Pro is the plan that matters: Standard leaves out auto captions, which is the feature most people upgrade for. That makes the real price of CapCut for a talking-to-camera creator $19.99 a month, not $9.99.

Paying doesn't change how you work. Pro unlocks more tools, but you still open a timeline, trim each clip, place each caption style and export. If the time is what bothers you, more tools won't fix it.

CapCut next to Krafto

The same questions for both, including the ones Krafto doesn't win: there's no free plan, it only runs in a browser, and it starts above CapCut's cheapest plan.

Which should you pay for?

Pay for CapCut if you enjoy editing and want the biggest library of trending templates and effects. It's still a timeline: you choose every cut yourself, and the captions most creators want are listed under the $19.99 plan.

Pay for Krafto if you film yourself talking and the editing is what you want gone: it makes the first cut from your clips, with the pauses and retakes out and the captions on. No free plan or trial, no phone app, and no template library: you film, Krafto cuts, and you check the result in a browser.

Where Krafto fits

Krafto works differently from every editor on this page: you upload your clips and say what you want, and it cuts the retakes and pauses, adds captions and hands you a first cut. You change things by asking, and the timeline is still there if you want it. It costs $25 a month. There's no free plan, so it only makes sense if editing is the part you want off your plate.
