Premiere Pro plans and prices

Adobe's prices here are for a yearly plan paid monthly. Paying month to month with no commitment costs more; Adobe shows that price at checkout.

PlanPriceWhat you get
Free trial$0 for 7 daysThe full desktop app, for a week.
Premiere$22.99 a month, on a yearly plan billed monthlyPremiere on desktop, with Speech to Text, text-based editing and Auto Reframe.
Creative Cloud Pro$69.99 a month, on a yearly plan billed monthlyPremiere plus Adobe's other apps, such as After Effects and Photoshop, and Adobe Express Premium.

Is Premiere Pro free?

No. The desktop app has a 7-day free trial and then needs a subscription. There's no free version to keep using.

Adobe does offer Premiere on mobile, which it describes as a free, standalone app for social video on iPhone and Android. It's a separate, simpler app, not the desktop editor.

What the yearly plan commits you to

The $22.99 price is a twelve-month commitment paid monthly, about $276 over the year. It isn't a rolling monthly plan you can drop next month, so read Adobe's cancellation terms before you start.

Whether it's worth it comes down to the hours. Premiere repays people who edit often enough to learn it. If you post a talking-to-camera video a week and editing isn't the part you enjoy, you'd be paying for a professional tool to do a job you want to avoid.

Premiere Pro next to Krafto

The same questions for both, including the ones Krafto doesn't win: there's no free plan, it only runs in a browser, and it starts above Premiere Pro's cheapest plan.

Which should you pay for?

Pay for Premiere Pro if you edit for a living, or want to, and need full control and the rest of Adobe's apps alongside. It has a steep learning curve and no free version, and its AI tools still leave every editing decision to you.

Pay for Krafto if you film yourself talking and the editing is what you want gone: it makes the first cut from your clips, with the pauses and retakes out and the captions on. No free plan or trial, no phone app, and no template library: you film, Krafto cuts, and you check the result in a browser.

Where Krafto fits

Krafto works differently from every editor on this page: you upload your clips and say what you want, and it cuts the retakes and pauses, adds captions and hands you a first cut. You change things by asking, and the timeline is still there if you want it. It costs $25 a month. There's no free plan, so it only makes sense if editing is the part you want off your plate.
